THE BROTHERHOOD OF SAINT ANDREW

Minutes
September 12, 2015

The meeting was called to order by the Director, Jim Ware, at 10:00 AM, at the Old Episcopal Burying Ground. Attending were Drew Byrd, David Cassidy, Lance Churchill, Tom Crehore, Guy Ellis, David Jaquith, Fr. Brent Owens, Ron Parkey, John Perrine, Skyler Robinson, and Jim Ware. Ben Newsome was a guest.

OLD BUSINESS
Old Episcopal Burying Ground – Ben Newsome gave an update on the relationship and contract which Seedleaf has with Christ Church Cathedral to maintain the London Ferrill side of the property for $3,000 per year. Since Seedleaf was not keeping the area mowed satisfactorily, they agreed to forgo the third payment of $1,000 if CCC would take over the mowing of the LFCG as well as the OEBG. Ben is interested in having Transylvania and the University of Kentucky use the OEBG for teaching, lecturing and demonstrating food production and harvest. Grants may be available from these universities to help the Burying Ground financially in these endeavors as well. Steve Kay, the vice mayor, is a neighbor of the OEBG and supports the relationship with the local universities. Ben has the dates of September 26, October 17, and November 7 chosen for fall clean-up days, planting, and bed preparation.

NEW BUSINESS
Annual Brunch – The annual brunch will be held at 8:30 AM on Saturday, October 10th, in the Tilford Room. New members will be installed. Those brothers who will be helping with the cooking are asked to be there by 8:00 AM.

LAMBETH STUDY
The Lambeth Study was led by Fr. Brent Owens and was taken from Mark 8:27-38. A discussion followed.

The closing service and prayers were led by Br. Ware and we were dismissed at 11:15 AM.

Respectfully submitted,
John Perrine
